The art of effective communication continuously increases your success percentage. Having good communication skills gives you an edge everywhere, whether it is your personal life or professional. Simply put, if your communication skills are good, then your success probability increases significantly.

The following five principles can prove to be effective for you in developing effective communication skill. To make it easy to remember, we abbreviate it to the word SKILL.

SKILL

S- Supportive Talker
K- Knowledgeable individual
I- Intelligent questioner
L- Logical Start & End
L- Lovely Listener

Supportive Talker (Supporting and motivating conversations) -

This is the major part of the art of conversation. In which we should always give others a chance to speak, encourage them to speak and this is considered to be the greatest quality of being a successful speaker. If you want to know the person in front, then encourage him to talk. He should be convinced that you are the person he wants to make a friend or his business partner. Always remember that there is never a one-way conversation, it is very important for both sides to participate.

Correcting of eye-contact is also very important while talking. Talk in the eyes of whomever you talk to. If someone is speaking and you are looking here and there, then you are not giving your support to him, so keep an I-contact.

The secret of the growth of many companies is that they encourage their customers to say what their expectations are! And when the customer is confident and tells his mind, then only the companies launch products that meet the expectations. We ourselves are reluctant to meet such people who do not give us an opportunity to speak, and they continue to speak the whole time. So if you want to win the heart of the person with the art of conversation, then let their original ideas come out and this will only happen when you encourage them to talk.

Knowledgeable Individual (Knowledgeable or educated person) -

You will be able to speak effectively only when you have good content to speak. Increase your knowledge, see general things everyone knows, but if you project yourself like an expert of a field, then you should also have knowledge like an expert. So to keep a hold on your subject, be updated with related journals, magazines, news.

Also, keep in mind that there is no pride in you after having good knowledge and you should not speak anything just to show off.

On the other hand, if you are unaware of any subject, always make a point of learning from the front. It is useless to brag about that subject without knowing it, it is better that you listen carefully to it while learning from the front.

So when communicating alone or in a group, keep in mind that you should not speak only for speaking, only when something is worth speaking.

That person likes every person who gives new paths, helps you to find or answer your questions patiently and judiciously and who have knowledge of different topics. So it should be our endeavor to develop ourselves as a knowledgeable individual.

Friends, if you give one rupee to your business partner and if he also gives you one rupee, in the end you have only one rupee. But at the same time, if we talk about knowledge or ideas, then when we give one idea to another and that too one idea returns to us, then in the end we now have two or two thoughts. And thoughts or knowledge are always multiplied in this way. So keep the best ideas in front of the person so that he can also present his good ideas to you.

Intelligent Questioner -

Questioning is an important aspect of conversation. Through this we get the knowledge that the person in front is showing interest in our things. Asking the right questions at the right time is a great quality, it shows that you are not only a good listener, but you also listen to the speaker and respect him.

Some of the major reasons which show how important it is to question: -

1. If you want to know anything, ask questions.

2. If you want to understand the state of mind of the person in front, then ask questions.

3. If you have to say yes or no to your words then ask questions.

4. If you have to meet the expectations or problems of the front, then ask questions.

5. If you want to assure that you are showing interest in his words, then ask questions.

Questions can be of two types: -

Close Ended: - Those who answer yes or no.

Open Ended: - To answer more than one word, one has to elaborate.

According to situation, these two types of questions should be collected in your discussion.

For ex: If you just want to know from someone whether they like the movie or not, you can ask them -

"How did you like the movie?"

But if you want to know not only whether the movie was good or bad but also to know about it in detail, then you can ask -

"What is your opinion about this movie?"

It is also possible that the answerer can answer the open ended questions in very short, so you will have to ask more questions.

If you are listening to someone carefully and with interest, then questions will arise in your mind on your own, many people do not ask even if there are questions, but if you want to become an effective communicator, then you should ask questions, yes keep that in mind. That you don't overdo it :)

Logical Start & End (logical start and end) -

Starting a conversation is considered a very difficult task. Because starting a conversation is also an art. In this, choosing the right topic and proceeding. To start with, you can talk on many topics, such as-

→about the weather

→of the city

→General conversation on politics, education etc.

A good smile can help you a lot in this task. Seeing someone move forward smiling and starting a conversation with hands is not so difficult… it can be done, said it?

There is a delay in starting a conversation, after which it automatically picks up speed. The more important the conversation remains to begin, the more important it is to end the conversation. And at the same time ending it in the summary and achieving its purpose. If you are ending a conversation with a business or corporation, be sure to discuss the next meeting, time, and place, because at the end of the conversation, the outline is set correctly.

Lovely Listener -

Being a good listener is a great quality, but unfortunately it is seen in very few people. Nowadays, many people have everything to say but do not have the patience to listen. In conversation, many people put forward their views, many laugh at their boast, weep their grief, but the truth is that most people who like to talk and listen more are liked.

The best way to become popular among family, society, relatives is to be a good listener, who expresses his happiness by listening to others, also expresses his grief and asks questions when he does not understand. . And perhaps it is the most important part of developing good communication skills.

Finally, some effective rules to remember while listening: -

1. Put all your attention on listening. And this will only happen when you eliminate the disruption near you, such as mobile, TV etc.

2. Do not interfere in the middle or else the front may deviate from its subject.

3. Listen to the whole thing, don't listen without listening to the whole thing.

4. Ask questions in between, wherever you find them.

5. Use your body language properly while talking.

6. Introduce sympathy and understanding. Make it known that you have listened seriously to them.
